‘agricultural’ to an extent; they look much chunkier, the spokes appearing far thicker. These wheels looks no nonsense, tough and rugged. The red and black looks altogether slimmer and of much higher quality. Without close inspection I reckon you’d be hard pushed to identify these as the same wheels.

 

In reality despite there only being a layer of paint in it, there is going to be the inevitable weight penalty for going white. The red and black rear was 885 grammes without its skewer, whilst the white rear was 915g. Up front the red and black was 672g versus 681g for the white. Importantly this weight is not at the rim, which on both wheels is identical in black aluminium, and so it depends how much you value a bit of bling on your bike over a bit of extra weight.

 

Personally I really liked the white spoked wheels and wouldn’t be bothered about the finish nor the weight penalty, but I
