Remerx Alcyon Wheels Review

The first set of Remerx Alcyon wheels that arrived here at CycleTechReview caused quite a stir. I’ve never had a set of wheels, even ten times more expensive deep carbons, which get more attention with both favourable and not so favourable comments. This happened both whilst out riding and in response to pictures placed on CycleTechReview.com’s various social media pages.

Most of the ‘likes’ seemed to come from younger cyclists, who were obviously appreciative of the ‘bling’ factor, and also from members of the public, not all of whom could have been plain-clothed bike riders.

At first glance the two wheelsets strike you as being very different, despite the fact that mechanically they are absolutely identical. The white painted finish gives the impression of a wheel which is much more robust in form, even
