British Gravel Championships
British Gravel Championships Updates
British Gravel Championships are on this (12-14 September) weekend and there’s some extra news you might like to know. First off, there will be full, live coverage of both the Elite Men (09:00) and Elite Women (13:30) races on Sunday, 14 September 2025. This will be a first for both events and it’s free to watch on Red On’s YouTube channel.
Commentary will be supplied by David Reeve, who you may have heard talking constantly for three days at the Gralloch! Filling in any gaps David may leave will be James McCallum, Scottish multi-discipline cyclist and coach. They will guide you through an action-packed day of racing in the heart of North Yorkshire. So if you can’t be there yourself, tune in to see who claims the gravel crown!

Sundowner Charity Ride
In other news, the British Gravel Championships have added an extra event to the weekend; the Sundowner Charity Ride. This will take place on the Saturday evening and is a fun, inclusive event to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK. Riders will have two hours to complete as many laps as they can, over a 4.8km gravel course.

Entry is £20 for adults, £5 for U18s, with all profits going to Prostate Cancer UK. As an added incentive there will be spot-prizes handed out during the ride; fancy dress anyone? So you can ride at your own pace, support an incredible cause, and enjoy the sunset glow over Dalby Forest.
The organisers hope that the Sundowner ride will help raise awareness, encourage life-saving checks, and raise funds for Prostate Cancer UK. This cause is particularly apt for organisers Red On Sports, as their co-founder, Malcolm Smith is currently undergoing treatment for prostate cancer. Red On say that “It’s a stark reminder that this disease affects 1 in 8 men in the UK, and even more amongst those over 50 – which includes a large part of our gravel cycling community.“
While entries are closed, why not head down to watch the racing if you’re local? Otherwise settle down in front of your laptop with your favourite beverage and snacks to watch the British Gravel Championships. And remember, while you may have missed this year’s race, there’s always next year!
