A preview of the Aprire Inverno AR, an aluminium framed All-Road bike.

I’ve taken delivery of the Aprire Inverno AR and will be putting it through the winter wringer. The Inverno AR, is the Surrey based firms do-it-all frame. Designed to be as happy on the daily commute as it is tackling some gravel mile munching.

Aprire Bicycles are the in-house brand of bike builders Cycles Perfecta, who I visited recently. Although they are a carbon manufacturer – for now – the Inverno AR is an aluminium frame with a carbon fork. The frame is disc brake only and comes drilled ready for mudguards or panniers.

Aprire offer three Shimano groupset options; Sora, Tiagra or 105. Our test bike comes equipped with Sora and has finishing kit supplied by Ritchey. Seating is provided by a Prologo Kappa saddle, while Mavic’s Aksium One disc wheels keep you rolling. Schwalbe’s 35mm CX Comp tyres are fitted for a bit of off-road fun.

Our Inverno AR is a very fetching custom paint-job, grey, pink and white. The standard colours are blue and white, but Aprire offer a custom paint option, which is a nice touch.

I’ll be putting the Inverno AR to the test over the winter, using it for club runs, a bit of commuting, the odd gravel ride and even take it ‘cross racing. Watch out for the full review.
