SRAM 22

SRAM HRR – Hydro Road Rim – calipers promise increased power and better modulation. These new SRAM 22 hydraulic rim brakes which will fit any road bike, have a quick release mechanism as normal, will accept tyres up to 28c and add 387 grams per wheel for the shift lever, the caliper, and housing. Naturally, as you might expect, they are compatible with the Zipp Firecrest rim which is 27.4mm wide.
When it comes to the hydraulics, the magic piece, according to SRAM, is the Connectamajig, the ‘coupling hose that makes setting up your SRAM road hydraulic brake systems easy, fast and convenient. The intimidation of hydraulics is gone with a push and a twist, its just that easy’. It does look like a very clever design and anything to make hydraulic set-up easier is welcome.
Standard Red shift levers appear unchanged from the 10-speed units but apparently are completely redesigned.
