Lapierre Safety Recall
Lapierre Safety Recall for its Aircode DRS and Xelius SL3 models.
The recent Lapierre Safety Recall is due to safety concerns around the forks on some Aircode DRS and Xelius SL3 models. The issue seems to an aluminium shim under the aluminium stem. The Lapierre Safety Recall says; “Research has shown that some Lapierre bikes have issues with their carbon fork. If the fork is damaged, this could potentially lead to a crack.”

This recall is for models that first went on sale in September 2020. If you have a Xelius SL3 with a carbon ‘cockpit’ then you need not worry; it is only the aluminium shim and stem equipped models that are a concern. According to Lapierre “Lapierre Xelius SL3 bikes equipped with a Lapierre carbon cockpit are NOT part of the recall.” The full Lapierre Safety Recall text is below.
