BKool Online Training System

We were very excited by BKool as we are huge fans of turbo training; admittedly, mainly out of necessity, as work, family and real life mean there is not as much time to get out on the bike as we’d like, despite what you (or the other half) might think.
This reliance on the turbo to build and maintain fitness has had a number of benefits. After many years of weekly use we are somewhat experts on the subject. We know exactly how to get fit, quickly. It also affords training at unsociable hours. Either early before everyone else is awake, or once the kids are all in bed, have become prime times for a ‘quick hour’ of pain on the turbo; pain mainly caused by the predominance of intervals in our training; intervals because, lets face it, turbo training can be a bit monotonous… Therefore, anything that makes indoor training more interesting is a boon and on a recent visit to UK distributor, i-ride, we came across BKool, not just another turbo but a whole online, social training system which by marrying up your indoor training to your outdoor sessions, and even those of your friends’, opens up a whole host of new possibilities and threatens to revolutionise indoor training.
Richard did a quick overview here and suitably excited we had a quick look on YouTube at an introductory BKool video, albeit in Spanish, here.

Well after this initial excitement we have finally got our hands on a BKool turbo unit back here at base and over the next few cold, grey, no doubt damp, wintry months, we’ll be looking into the potential of the BKool training system in some detail. But before that let’s review how you get started and what BKool is like to use.

In the box you get the actual turbo unit (called BCycling), a front wheel support, a BKool steel quick release, a power
BKool, taking the tedium out of indoor training?
