Autumn/Winter Special: Dexshell Winter Bundle Preview

A preview of our Dexshell Winter Bundle that we’ll be testing over the coming winter.

Dexshell are a new kid on the block. They have a range of hats, socks and gloves that is quite surprising. There’s even a pair of gloves that are fire retardant and cut resistant on their website. A lot of their products are waterproof thanks to a hydrophilic Porelle membrane and there’s some nice and bright colours as well as the usual blacks and greys.

Cycling Skull Cap. I’ve got a few similar items in my drawer but this is the only one that has a mix of materials in different places. Only the forehead and ears are made with a windproof material, which should mean it doesn’t get quite as sweaty and is slightly lighter than similar products.

Beanie Solo Waterproof. Whilst not much use if you wear a helmet on the bike, Dexshell has a good selection of different beanies and some lovely bright colours that would be perfect for those who shun helmets as well as being great for off the bike. So when you go and watch your mates race the Winter series or cyclocross you can be comfortable as well as a good friend (or you could buy one for your other half to ease the pain of watching you come last-again). The Beanie Solo is waterproof, windproof, thermal and light. The outer layer is knitted and the liner is micro fleece which is soft and warm.

Thermfit Neo Glove. Now this is a pair of gloves! They are available in other colours, like black for instance, but the blaze orange ones really do stand out. Because they are form-fitting there’s no extra material like on some winter gloves. The Porelle membrane ensures they are waterproof and breathable. The merino wool liners ensure they are warm and should ensure most of the sweat gets displaced. Merino also has natural anti bacterial properties which will mean less washing is needed to keep them from smelling rotten. The rubberised dots on the palm and fingers help with grip.

I’ll be testing these over the next few weeks and I’ll let you know how I get on.
