POC VPD 2.0 Spine pack Review

Build Quality and Detailing

With POC’s distinctive, understated style, the build quality and attention to detail shines through and is impressive. Supplied in one colour only – Uranium Black – the only other colours to be found are in the form of the tastefully embroidered white POC brand name, the lime green VPD back protector logo and the oversized zip handles.

Exterior detailing is kept to a minimum.

The exterior of the 2.0 Spine pack is uncomplicated visually and in stark contrast to some other products that incorporate multiple pockets, logos, pouches and so forth on the outside; though the details and clever features are all there, you need to look a little closer and take a minute or two to work out exactly what everything is designed for.

External Features

The face of the bag incorporates a zip-up pocket that stores a helmet pouch. This pulls out and clips in 4 places to hold your helmet on the outside of the bag. I tested this with both a standard Giro Monza bike helmet and also a larger skiing helmet, roughly comparable in size to a full face MTB helmet. The small plastic clips locate easily with small nylon loops and with a quick adjustment of the straps it held both securely.
