Team Raleigh win at the Tour Series in Durham

Team Raleigh returned to the Pearl Izumi Tour Series Podium in Durham, the same venue as their last Tour Series team victory, after an impressive showing.

Together with a trio of riders from NFTO and Rapha, Team Raleigh’s Evan Oliphant and Matthieu Boulo escaped from the bunch early on and forced a sizeable margin on the challenging Durham circuit.

Coming into the last lap around cobbled streets it was the NFTO and Rapha riders who struck out alone, leaving Boulo to outsprint pre-race favourite Kristian House for third.

With Morgan Kniesky in sixth and Oliphant in ninth Raleigh made sure of the Team honours on the night. Liam Stones was just outside the top ten in eleventh giving Raleigh comfortably the best performance this season and enough to give them the win over Rapha Condor JLT.

Neo-pro rider Liam Stones was thrilled with his first Tour Series podium, coming after the disappointment of crashing on the run-in to Sunday’s Milk Race in Nottingham. Commenting on Twitter Stones reported: “So happy to get my first team podium with @TeamRaleighUK @TourSeries in Durham tonight.”
