I haven’t been up the Beacon for a while, but I have certainly never climbed it with the authority that I did that day on the Argon 18 Gallium Pro, thanks in no small part to the bike build and set up taken care of by Mark. In the photographs that Paul took I even look comfortable!

The Fulcrum Racing Zero wheelset certainly has that Va-va-voom factor – good looking and offering an exceptional performance over the shoddy East Sussex road surfaces. What is the French for Va-va-voom? And the drivetrain was faultless; I really don’t need to fawn over the Campagnolo Super Record on these pages, do I?

I am suitably impressed by the Argon Gallium Pro – the time I had on it certainly made me want a bit more, and dare I say it, I had fun on the bike. I’ve penciled it down as a very probable new bike on my n+1 wish list! As such, we’ll be pushing i-ride for a full review soon.

Look out for Paul’s impressions of i-ride’s De Rosa and the Merckx frames coming soon as well.
