CoreCap: A Modern Take on the Presta Valve

CoreCap from BBB cycling is a redesigned valve system aimed at solving many of the long‑standing frustrations riders have with traditional Presta valves. The new design promises significantly higher airflow, greater durability and full compatibility with common pump heads including Schrader.

A Structural Rethink of the Presta Valve

The Presta format has barely changed in a century, and its weaknesses are well known: bent tips, clogged cores, fragile threads and awkward inflation; especially on tubeless setups. BBB’s engineers have rebuilt the mechanism from the ground up, removing the unscrewable core entirely and replacing it with a compact, sealed internal system designed to resist damage and contamination.

BBB claims the CoreCap delivers up to 300% more airflow than a standard Presta core, allowing faster inflation and more consistent pressure adjustments.

Universal Pump Compatibility

One of the features is that the CoreCap works directly with Schrader (AV) pump heads –  found on most floor pumps and at petrol stations. Riders can inflate tyres anywhere without adapters, while still running a Presta‑sized valve in their rims. It also works with dual‑head and auto‑select pump designs covering Presta, Dunlop and Schrader.

Two Versions Available

• CoreCap AL Valve – a complete tubeless valve set with the CoreCap mechanism integrated.
• AL Valve Set: €29.95–€34.95 / £24.99–£31.99 (40, 60, 80 mm; two colours)
• CoreCap Valve Caps Upgrade Set – replaces the removable core on any threaded Presta valve, including inner tubes.
• Valve Caps Upgrade Set: €16.95 / £14.99 (six colours)
