Fenwick’s Airtight Sealant
So in conclusion, Airtight gives you the confidence to do things a bit differently. Airtight is capable of making a non-UST tyre and wheel into a tubeless system if you are willing to spend the time, put up with the potential mess and accept the hassle.
However, where Airtight has won us over, is simply in filling inner tubes with sealant which allows us to ride off-road at lower pressures than clinchers are supposed to be used at.
It’s up to you which route you choose and of course we are still to try Airtight with a tubeless tyre and wheelset, but it seems pretty obvious that it will work.
Since using Airtight we have had punctures, but have never had to stop and add or change a tube. It just seals the puncture up and it’s only on cleaning the bike’s tyres that you get to see the evidence of a puncture.
Airtight is good; we recommend it and as such it has even become part of our road tyre set-ups.
