Scicon Titanium cycling glasses
Scicon Aeroshade 2.0 Titanium & Aerobeam Titanium Glasses
Cycling eyewear has come a long way, but Scicon Titanium cycling glasses are still a rarity in the performance eyewear world. Scicon is looking to change that with two premium models: the Aeroshade 2.0 Titanium and the Aerobeam Titanium. We’ve spent time riding with both pairs, on and off‑road, through the unpredictable UK spring. Here’s how they performed.

Why Choose Scicon Titanium Cycling Glasses?
Most cycling glasses rely on lightweight plastic composites, but Scicon has turned to titanium for its strength, flexibility and long‑term durability. Titanium resists deformation, corrosion and temperature extremes, meaning the glasses maintain their fit and retention ride after ride. For cyclists who demand reliability from their kit, that’s a compelling proposition.

Scicon Aerobeam Titanium
Design & First Impressions
The Aerobeam Titanium is a new addition to the Scicon range, and while it’s clearly a performance‑focused design, it’s subtle enough that you could wear it off the bike without looking like you’ve just rolled out of a time trial. The titanium temples paired with a TR90 front keep the weight low and the frame impressively flexible.

Photochromic Performance
Our test pair came with Scicon’s photochromic lens, which adapts gradually to changing light conditions. The transition isn’t noticeable in real time, but the effect is: you always have the right level of tint, whether you’re ducking into tree cover or rolling out into bright open lanes.

On‑Bike Performance
Testing took place in classic UK spring conditions – grey skies, drizzle, road spray and the occasional muddy off‑road climb. Despite the damp, the Aerobeam Titanium resisted misting even on slow, technical ascents. That’s a big win; few things are more irritating than fogged lenses mid‑climb.
The adjustable nosepiece and arms make it easy to dial in a secure fit, though we found them comfortable straight out of the box.
EZSwitch Lens System
Swapping lenses is simple thanks to Scicon’s EZSwitch mechanism. Lift the nosepiece, flex the frame slightly, and the lens pops out. No wrestling, no fear of snapping anything.

Included Accessories
The glasses come with:
- a soft pouch (which doubles as a lens cloth)
- a premium storage bag

Scicon suggests the bag can double as a saddle bag, but with its plush lining, we’d rather not fill it with multitools and CO₂ cartridges.
Scicon Aeroshade 2.0 Titanium Review

Updated Shape & Coverage
The Aeroshade 2.0 Titanium evolves the original Aeroshade with a noticeably different lens shape. Gone is the angular profile and side grille; in its place is a larger, more curved mono‑shield that drops lower and wraps further around the face. The result is improved wind protection and a broader field of view.
Frame Construction
Like the Aerobeam, the Aeroshade 2.0 uses medical‑grade titanium for the temples and Grilamid TR90 for the front frame. Despite the larger lens, the weight increase is minimal – a gram or two at most – and unlikely to be noticeable on the bike.

Lens Options & RX Compatibility
Scicon offers eight lens options, including mirrored, photochromic and high‑contrast tints. There’s also a clip‑in RX insert, allowing riders who need prescription lenses to enjoy the full wraparound coverage without compromise.

Which One Should You Choose?
Both models showcase what Scicon Titanium cycling glasses can offer riders, but they serve slightly different tastes:
| Model | Best For | Key Strengths |
| Aerobeam Titanium | Riders who prefer a subtle, lightweight design | Photochromic performance, comfort, minimal fogging |
| Aeroshade 2.0 Titanium | Riders who want maximum coverage and bold styling | Larger lens, improved wind protection |
After extended testing, the Aerobeam Titanium proved ideal for mixed spring conditions, but the Aeroshade 2.0 Titanium wins on sheer visual appeal. They won’t make you ride like Tadej Pogačar, but they certainly look the part.

Final Thoughts
If you’re considering upgrading to Scicon Titanium cycling glasses, both models sit firmly in the premium category, both in construction and price. But for cyclists who value durability, comfort and cutting‑edge design, the Aerobeam Titanium and Aeroshade 2.0 Titanium deliver a compelling blend of performance and style.
Both models are available now from the Scicon website.
