Overland Vessel Bar Bag

The Overland Vessel Bar Bag looks like any other bar bag, but there is something different going on.

What makes the Overland Vessel Bar Bag different from all the other options out there? Taking a look at its features and they’re well thought out, but pretty standard. It’s 12cm in diameter, 24cm long, with a waterproof top zip and two end pockets. There are loops along the front to attach extra bits and bobs and loops at either end to let you attach a strap. The unusual feature is what it’s made from; Overland use left-over garments and fabrics to make the Vessel.

Overland started back in 2019 as an outdoor brand that wanted to breathe “new life into forgotten fabrics.” They took excess and end-of-life items and created clothing and accessories from them that would otherwise have gone into landfill. From their workshop in the South Downs National Park, they slowly garnered a small customer base, but they wanted to do more!

Circular Inc

So Circular Inc was born to design, manufacture, repair and upcycle clothing for UK arms of international clothing brands like Patagonia, Osprey and Lululemon. This collaboration has worked well and they are now Patagonia’s official UK repair centre.

However it’s not just repairs that Circular Inc are interested in. They hope to work with brands at the design stage, creating items that have other products built into them from the start. This way excess or end-of-life stock can be converted easily with minimal waste; so less goes to landfill. Take a look at their Barricade Afterlife Rain Jacket that has been designed from the start to fit this concept.

Overland Vessel Bar Bag

So, the Overland Vessel Bar Bag, it is produced in small batches of thirty at a time. This is to avoid the problem of overstock; something the bike industry has suffered from since covid. It comes in three colourways; orange, black or orange and black. All of the bags come with a lifetime guarantee. This means, according to Overland that “whether you’re the first or third owner, repairs are on us“! That kind of confidence in their product counts for a lot when making a purchase. The Overland Vessel Bar Bag is available from their website for £38. And when you do buy one of their products, Overland will contribute £1 to Heal Rewilding, which is a UK charity.
