Need somewhere safe to hang your pride and joy? Check out the Hangman Secure Cycle Storage Hanger.

The Hangman Secure Cycle Storage mounts to a wall and cradles your bike, locking around your frame. Hangman are brand new to cycling. Based in Nottingham where they design, manufacture and test their range. The guys behind the brand have previously been involved in making wall hanging solutions for home entertainment systems so they’re no strangers to making sure your pride and joy stays on the wall where it’s supposed to.

I spoke to the designer of the Hangman storage system and he tells me that there are some more interesting products in the pipeline. The Hangman Secure Cycle Storage Hanger is a very simple idea. A bracket is fastened to the wall, then the rack secures to the bracket with two security bolts. A glass filled nylon construction with steel enforcement means that although you shouldn’t rely solely on the Hangman to secure your bike, it’s a good piece of additional security at a very reasonable price.

Fitting a Hangman system means you can have your garage open whilst you’re cleaning the car and not worry about someone walking in and taking your bike. The Hangman is so easy to use that you will use it. The bike is placed on the cradle and rubber support arms and the clasp closes, all you do is turn the key to lock it.

There are two basic options, you can either have the System 1 which mounts the bike horizontally, or the System 190 that holds the bike vertically. The System 2 and 290 are upgraded versions of the above which have an additional shelf as well as the standard hook. System 3 and 390 have a telescopic floor to ceiling pole upon which you can mount further System 1 and 190 and shelves. There’s also a USB hub which can be mounted to any of the system racks with six ports for charging all of your cycle mounted accessories.

For a similar price to the Cycloc wall storage hanger for the basic System 1, but with added security, the Hangman system makes a lot of sense. Obviously if you want something even more secure you need the Hiplok Airlok, but that’s more than twice the price of the Hangman and takes a bit more effort to fit, with only a horizontal storage mode.
