Craft Spring and Summer Wear
Craft Spring and Summer Wear

With the rain lashing down outside and the temperature struggling to get into double figures, what could be better than taking delivery of some lightweight, warm weather kit from Craft?
We’ve tried out a lot of clothing from Craft and with their background in alpine sports, it’s hardly surprising that it’s all been designed to keep you riding when the mercury and the rain start falling. So it was a pleasant surprise to take delivery of their latest spring and summer kit.
In the box we have a Cool Mesh Superlight Base Layer, Grand Tour Jersey and Puncheur Bib Shorts. All of these are very lightweight and designed to wick away sweat fast, keeping you cool and fresh.
The short sleeved Grand Tour Jersey uses Craft’s Moving Wing Technology to create a bike specific fit, so no undue bunching or excessive flapping. The jersey is very light, with only the top of the shoulders and part of the side being solid. The rest of the jersey is made from Craft’s Mesh Superlight fabric, which should keep you cool and dry. Three rear open pockets and a smaller, zipped pocket provide plenty of storage. The zipped pocket has a small opening for earphones.
The Cool Mesh Superlight Base Layer is very light and uses Craft’s Big Mesh construction. The Base Layer comes in its own display box, which isn’t going to affect performance, but it looks nice! Base layers are what Craft started with back in 1973, so we can assume they know what a base layer should do.
The Puncheur bib-shorts have many attributes, not least of which is the fact that they are plain black, with minimalist reflective logos – makes matching with other kit so much easier! The Puncheurs are made from a lycra that includes Body-Control and Coldblack® fabric. The first helps “reduce muscle vibration and focuses power” while Coldblack® protects against harmful UV rays.
Wide leg ends, with a light silicone print stop the shorts riding up, while a waffle like knit to the front and a mesh bib upper should help keep the temperatures under control. The pad is a three layer, four way stretch item, laser cut and seamless. The pads are also gender specific, so no swapping with your significant other!
With the warm weather still a few weeks/months away opportunities to try out this new warm weather clothing from Craft will be few, but as soon as it does we’ll let you know how they perform.
