Prologo – Nago Evo Tirox 2014 PREVIEW
As part of the ongoing Project Alize – I should say Project Nazaré now – I have taken possession of a Prologo Nago Evo Tirox saddle for that all important contact point with the backside.
Prologo saddles are technologically packed with features and their range covers a broad spectrum of riding styles, shapes, sizes and gender for you, the end user, to get the right saddle to fit.
With every type of end-use riding style catered for within the range, with the possible exception of BMX, there’s a lot of choice. For road riding there are 3 categories: the ‘Scratch’ model representing a round seating surface suitable for long distances and designed for comfort; the ‘Nago Evo’ is a semi-round saddle suitable for medium to long distances; and finally the C.One/Zero is for short distances, possibly criterium races where you’re hardly in the saddle.
Prologo then offer the choice of size, material (of particular note is the Prologo nano-technology of the CPC material which they claim offers grip and position, vibration and shock and air-cooling properties), ‘active density’ (which is a Prologo advance in offering differing levels of comfort across parts of the saddle) and finally, base and rail materials.
The Nago Evo Tirox is offered in two sizes, 134mm wide and 141mm wide, has a carbon fibre injection base, microfibre cover with light PU active density padding and a lightweight alloy-steel rail. The saddle weighs approximately 227g. The alternative ‘Nack’ model has a carbon fibre rail and weighs 177g and costs £60 (RRP) more.
The Nago Evo Tirox saddle has been chosen to fit with my budget, comfort, shape and size – in white with the red flashes to coordinate with the red of the 3T Erganova Team bars and Integra Stem – and paired with Prologo One Touch gel white/black bar tape for ‘collar and cuffs’ aesthetic purposes.
I’ll let you know how I get on with both in the coming weeks.
PROLOGO NAGO EVO TIROX 2014 SADDLE – £104.99 (RRP)
PROLOGO ONE TOUCH GEL BAR TAPE – £22.99 (RRP)
