For use with Schrader tubes you just unscrew the gold Snap-it valve and screw the pump’s hose straight onto your tube. The end of the hose has an integrated Pressure Control Button which allows you to release air from the tyre to achieve that perfect pressure which Birzman term the Controlled Air Discharge system.

The barrel, with its ‘Evolved-Barrel-Structure’, is very smooth in use, featuring ‘a precision cylinder and piston mechanism that allows air to flow more easily, creating a more ergonomic experience’. We cannot argue. There is a neat test for this as well, in which you just lift the handle and let it slide down on its own. You can easily control the rate the handle falls by placing your finger over the end of the valve. Its good party trick and different to other track pumps we have used.

To see what was going on we dismantled the Zacoo Tiny Tanker and clearly the tolerances are tight. It is also clear that this is a pump that is easy to maintain and replace parts, so it should last a long time.

The foot plate is a one side affair which didn’t prove to be an issue at all and the pressure valve is easy to read and very accurate assuming our back-up gauge is also accurate. As for the tyre pressures, we were able to achieve high pressures on all of the tyres and tubs that we inflated. Certainly small size was not an issue in inflation terms.
