Scott Bikes 2013

January 2013

Luke Durbridge and his ORICA GreenEDGE team are again riding on Scott Bikes in 2013, including the Plasma time trial bike which we looked at here, plus the aero road Foil and the classics oriented CR1 road bike.

Heading the road range is the pure performance orientated, aero framed Foil, which replaced the infamous Addict. The Foil Team Issue is the work bike of Team ORICA – GreenEDGE. The Team Issue comes equipped with Shimano Dura-Ace groupset, Ritchey parts and Syncros RR1.5 carbon wheelset. It retails for £6,449.

The CR1 has been in the Scott range for a while now and has gone through constant refinement. It was the bike ridden by the ORICA GreenEDGE team across the cobbles of Paris Roubaix and the other northern Classics in 2012, being perfect for longer rides on less than perfect roads. Whilst in the ideal world we’d all spec Dura Ace on everything, in the real world we like the look of the mid-range build where the CR1 Pro comes equipped with a Shimano Ultegra groupset, Syncros parts and their RP1.5 wheelset. Its yours for £2,699.

Finally Scott Bikes have the aluminium Speedster 10, giving Foil-like performance but at a more cost effective price point. The Speedster uses hydroformed 6061 aluminium tubes to produce an aero frame that shares some of the profiles from the Foil. Like the CR1, the Speedster 10 comes equipped with Shimano Ultegra groupset, Syncros 2.0 series parts and Shimano WH R501 wheelset. It retails in the UK for £1449.
