Wheels in Wheels and Johan Museeuw

Johan Museeuw will be present at the 2017 Wheels in Wheels Spanish cycling camps.
In the depths of winter a cyclist thoughts turn, naturally to spring training camps. A week or two riding somewhere warm, with fellow cyclists, good food and friendly locals, What could be better? And if you fancy riding in the company of a bona fide Classics legend, then book yourself onto the Wheels in Wheels Spanish cycling camps in Andalusia.
The three times Paris Roubaix and Tour of Flanders winner, TdF yellow jersey wearer and former world road race champion will be present on rides during March and April in Mojácar, Spain. Johan will ride with the groups; he’s still in “good shape”, so don’t go trying to show off! The Lion of Flanders will be happy to pass on his knowledge and encourage all riders. Johan will be staying and dining in the same hotel as you, so a chance to talk to a real cycling legend who’ll be riding in an area he knows well.
The Wheels in Wheels camps will be held around the Andalusia region, rather than their usual destination, Mallorca. They say the reasons for this are; “the roads are very well maintained, there’s very little traffic (and cyclists are treated with respect), good mix of flat and mountains (you can get to over 2,000m early season), many locations for food and drink stops and weather is more predictable than the Balearics.” The region is also popular with many Pro Tour teams for winter training.
The level of support on the Wheels in Wheels camps is impressive with their Ride like a Pro service. They supply ride guides, following vehicles and even a motorcycle mechanic to sort any mechanicals. With everything supplied you don’t even have to carry a pump! Ride food is supplied by Clif Bars, but you can still stop for a roadside coffee and cake.
Accommodation is half board at the Valle del Este hotel in Mojácar, and includes full use of spa, steam room, sauna and gym. Your bike will be hung safely up each night ready for you to hit the road the following day. If all this sounds just what you need, then check out the Wheels in Wheels website, early bird discounts are available up until the 31st January.
