The Ekoi Primavera Outfit is aimed at those early season rides, too cold for short sleeves, but where you’ll be riding hard and don’t want loads of layers.

French mail order company Ekoi, have brought out a spring clothing collection that could be useful as a three season outfit. We are currently testing their Aerocomp Thermal Suit, which is a one piece winter skin suit.

Ekoi’s new Primavera range is manufactured from a fleece backed material that makes for a warmer, but still breathable outfit. Sounds like the kind of outfit you’ll be needing as we enter Classics season, where you want to be riding fast and don’t want to be too encumbered, but still need some protection from the elements.

The Primavera jersey uses an Italian fleece backed material to keep you warm down to five degrees centigrade and has longer sleeves, with wide grippers for a little extra protection and to help keep your arm warmers up. The last is very important when it comes to looking ‘just so’!

Ekoi’s Primavera bib-shorts also use the same Lombardia MITI fabric as the jersey, which should keep your upper legs warm. Longer gripper bands keep the shorts from riding up and help keep leg warmers in place, similar to the jersey’s arm bands. The shorts use an Italian Aero Sotto chamois.

Finishing off the range are arm and leg warmers. Both are made from the same Lombardia MITI fabric and have wide silicone grippers at the top and laser cut ankle and wrists. These are some of the most useful items in a cyclists wardrobe and for most of the winter I find leg warmers more than enough for our mild winters. They are also useful for rides that start early, or on changeable days. Stick them in your back pocket and your ready for anything.

Ekoi are still quite new to us over here in the UK, we have reviewed some of their items – shoes, helmet and glasses – and I’ve found them to be of good quality, with the added bonus of colour customisation on some of their items. The look of a lot of Ekoi kit is big and bold – think modern, pro riders – rather than classic, wooly hipster. I must admit a fondness for big colourful graphics, it certainly gets you noticed out on the road. I hope to be getting some of the Ekoi Primavera range to try out and will let you know how I get on.
