Remerx Master Disc Wheels
April 2013
We have a pair of Czech made Remerx Master wheels with disc brakes in to test. Ideal for cyclo-cross, are these also the future of training wheels…
The Remerx Master Disc wheels from Sihel Cycling are a sturdy and handsome looking set of aluminium clinchers ideally set up for Cyclocross or for your training bike.
Sihel Cycling see training bikes with disc brakes as really taking off, given the longevity promised by the adoption of discs as opposed to rim brakes ridden continuously in poor weather conditions.
The wheelset has a traditional cross laced 32 (front and rear) steel spoke, with lightweight double wall 6005 alloy rims with a modified profile, mated to Remerx aluminium hubs with Shimano/SRAM/Campagnolo compatible freehub and Teppan Yaki SP5 Floating Rotor Discs.
The black rims with white decals are very striking and offset nicely with the black steel spokes and bright red aluminium Remerx hubs.
The Teppan Yaki stainless steel rotors are lightweight and incredibly pretty with the spade design.
The Remerx Master Disc are not the lightest wheelset on the market but ideal as a set of tough training wheels, especially at their £198 price point. We’re looking forward to giving them a bash about on the Downs over the next couple of weeks. Look for a full review soon.
