Preview of the 3T Ergonova Bars that will grace Project Alize

3T are a popular choice within the Pro Peloton and amateur riders alike – their striking handlebar designs cover road, track, triathlon, cyclocross and MTB, not to mention stems, seat posts and wheelsets. 3T Ergonova Bar

3T have three product line ‘standards’ which share the same core engineering values. ‘Pro’ is the entry level, affordable with an emphasis on the price-performance balance and made from 7075 Aluminum Alloy. ‘TEAM’ is carbon fibre, pro rider and strong amateur spec for top level competition, being equal to the top of the range ‘LTD’ in function with a small concession on price. ‘LTD’ is the ultimate level for the top competitors and budgets.

Italian style and design: the 3T Ergonova Bar

The ERGONOVA TEAM bars that we have in are a lightweight carbon fibre bar, compact with a shallow drop that has a 6° flare. The top of the bar is ergonomically egg-shaped for comfort offering a wider top surface for the hands.

More comfortable, wider aero profile tops on the 3T Ergonova Bars

The bars weigh 198g (42cm) with a range of widths – 38, 40, 42 and 44 cm – for a 31.8mm clamp. The 123mm drop is shallow and the bars feature a hollow underneath for internal cabling from the shifters, keeping the cables neat and tidy. The TEAM version is finished in gloss black, with white 3T decals and red detailing across the top of the bar.

3T Ergonova has a shallow drop with a 6 degree flare

First impressions of the bars are good. They feel comfortable and lightweight with a strong look and defined design. The 123mm drop and 6° flare seem to offer my modest hands ample reach to the shifters and brakes. As part of a 3T package, I look forward to testing these bars. Look out for the full review soon.
