…but let’s just get this out of the way now – I’m going to come clean and admit that though I had a rough time with Titus Rockstar Carbon 29er when it came down to the race, I loved to ride it. It’s a gorgeous bike; the tuxedo styling with the black and white color scheme of the high modulus T700 and T800 Toray carbon fibre frame is classy and tasteful. The integrated stainless guard plates – chainsuck guard and downtube guard – only add to the classy look. Top that off with internal cable routing and the Rockstar just looks slick.

As far as components go, you really can’t go wrong with SRAM X-9 series for a crankset, front and rear derailer and shifters. They were solid, clean shifting and dependable. In the time I had the Rockstar, I didn’t have a single mis-shift.

The same goes for the Avid Elixir 5 brakes; plenty of power, plenty of modulation, and easily adjustable. While the bike came to me needing a minor adjustment to the front brake as the lever was getting perilously close to the handlebar, just 2 minutes with a hex tool took care of the issue. Once I had that dialed in, the Rockstar was ready to rock.

Blaming a bike for user error (especially on maiden voyage) is kinda weak….the motor on the bike is what makes it perform….thanks for the review.
