Next up in our self-indulgent series of Christmas Presents for Cyclists is commissaire, race organiser, and another cyclocross junkie, Mark Tearle, who has written his Christmas list.
He fancies a Birzman Multitool such as the Feexman Cicada, “one of the carbon shiny ones” available in the UK from i-ride. It is very light with carbon sides, aluminium chain tool and chromoly bits. It packs in a useful ten functions to its handy size and would certainly make a great pressie for any cyclist. Expect to pay around £39.99.
Next on Mark’s list is a custom Velomorpha.com (his blog) (iL) Soigneur musette. Now this is an excellent choice. If you follow the link to the website you actually get the chance to design your own musette. A superb idea if you know which design to get for the intended recipient, which shouldn’t be too hard in Mark’s case with his web presence. Cost is £30-00.
Slightly more ambitious perhaps is asking Santa for a pair of Reynolds Stratus Pro Disc Brake wheels, available in the UK from Upgrade. The new Stratus Pro has a tubeless-ready 6061 alloy rim laced to a Reynolds racing hub and is available in a disc brake specific model weighing 1590g. RRP is £700-00.
Forever pushing the limit, he also chipped in that a new Ultegra Di2 groupset to go on his cross bike wouldn’t go amiss and then sent over a picture of another cross bike altogether… Good luck with those!
Tomorrow it’s Paul Hopkins’ turn.
