We are a bit excited about the new Dura-Ace 9000 11 speed groupset and these videos show why.
First up is an interesting little video about the launch of the new Dura-Ace 11 speed groupset to the Euro bike press.
Bear with it at the start as its a slow but, with a neat little animated piece about the stresses on the chainset and some insights from the people who helped develop the new groupset, it gets more interesting.
Then secondly, there’s a practical little video from US retailer Arts Cyclery, in which a US Shimano rep goes through the basics of the mechanical groupset.
What you get from these videos is the sense that Shimano have really pulled out all the stops with the new groupset and that after a bit of criticism over 7900, have worked hard to get the shifting back to the level of 7800, which our man Hallett reckons is the best shifting groupset ever.
The brakes are also all new in design improving power by 20%. See our earlier video about them here Shimano Dura-Ace Direct Mount Brakes.
With improved ergonomics and real attention to detail we can’t wait to get our hands on Dura-Ace 9000 11 speed and see if it really is as good as it seems to promise, so look out for a full review soon.
