Hackney GT Trackster Winter Jacket Preview

A preview of the Hackney GT Trackster.

Hackney GT is the brainchild of self-confessed “cycling nut and devout weekend racer Russ Jones”. What started as a one-off design for his music production company has grown into a club and brand. The club jersey is easy to pick out at London Cross League races and Russ loves testing his kit to destruction; “Testing is fun, as we ride our prototypes hard to deliberately ruin them”! With winter well upon us, we take a look at the Hackney GT Trackster

As part of our winter kit special, Hackney GT kindly sent me this Trackster Winter jacket in blue. It’s a soft-shell jacket with a simple but effective design that I really like. They do the same design in Green and if this isn’t exciting enough for you, they have a leopard print too!

At first glance I can see the three pockets at the back are very roomy, but neatly arranged. There’s another zipped pocket at the side of these big enough for the largest of phones. The cuffs are nice and long to keep the weather out.

Hackney GT’s clothing is all Made in England and they are rightly proud of that; it’s written in quite large letters on the back of the jersey. The jacket feels like a quality item, with a nice soft texture on the inside of the jacket and the stitching looks neat and strong.

Wind and shower proof, the Hackney GT Trackster should be good for all Winter. It also has a good cut at the back and a silicone gripper to stop it riding up and letting the cold in. A nice high collar will help keep my neck warm on those long winter rides.

Now I just have to brave the cold and get out there and wear it. I’ll report back soon.
