Santini

Along with all the technological advances, you can’t forget that Santini are an Italian company and for many that means style. Santini have produced a variety of iconic jerseys over the years, including the Mondrian influenced La Vie Claire, the black and white checker pattern of Shell-Peugeot and the cubetastic rainbow that was Mapei. They still produce jerseys for many World Tour teams, such as Orica-GreenEDGE, Katusha and Vacansoleil, as well as being the official UCI and the official Giro d’Italia jersey supplier.

For this years Giro d’Italia, Santini and British designer, Sir Paul Smith, have teamed up to produce all 4 leaders jerseys. There’s not a lot that can be done; it is the Maglia Rosa after all, so you can hardly change the colour! Nevertheless Sir Paul has added a few touches; red piping, his signature stripes on the sleeve cuffs, a little pen drawing of a cyclist, and inside the collar, the signature of Fiorenzo Magni, who died last year, a true campione of Italian cycling at the time of Coppi and Bartali.
