The Santini Kopar jersey is a good example of the advances made in cycle clothing. The Kopar uses Resistex Bioceramic and Resistex Copper in it’s construction. The Bioceramic material on the shoulders absorbs UV rays while reflecting the suns heat. It also allows Far Infra Red (FIR) rays through to ‘stimulate microcirculatory system’. The copper thread, which can be seen clearly against the black cloth, is naturally anti-bacterial and anti-static. Copper is also absorbed through the skin and is needed for normal body function. That’s a hell of a lot of work being done by ‘just’ a jersey…

In this image you can clearly see the copper yarn used in the Kopar’s construction and the attention to details like the logo on the zip placket. As well as using innovative materials, Santini have used their years of experience and rider feedback to produce a fit they call ‘strategic cut’ on some of their jerseys. As well as being a slim, tailored fit the use of a one way stretch material on the front of the jersey, prevents the jersey wrinkling and creating drag, while the back is made from a 4 way stretch material, allowing freedom of movement.

 

Santini also use laser cut edges on some of their jerseys. The laser seals the edge of the material so it doesn’t fray removing the need for a bulky hem. This helps to create a smooth look, perfect for accentuating those cycling biceps…
